MGC- PPK Activities

The objective of PPK (PUSAT PEMBANGUNAN KAPASITI) is to help reduce unemployment in the country and build up a competent national workforce. This is achieved by upskilling local jobseekers through three to six months training programmes that are aligned to industry needs. The standard curriculum for the PPK training programme is 20 per cent theory and 80 per cent practical. Training is delivered by industry-experienced instructors from REGISTERED TRAINING ORGANIZATIONS (RTOs).

In addition to skilling and reskilling programs, PPK shall evolve over time to offer other types of services. One of these is trade testing which is the method used to verify the competencies of a worker prior to the issuance of a license to work. The experience and success of this will pave the way for other types of trade tests in PPK in the years to come.
